Packaging

Automated packaging solutions for secure, efficient and presentable packaging processes in your production.

What is automated packaging technology?

Automated packaging technology covers all systems that pack products securely, efficiently and presentably at the end of the production line — from palletising to securing with shrink film to sealing containers with lids. It usually sits at the end of a production line, preparing goods for storage and shipping.

Applications and industries

Tomasic's packaging technology is used in food production, consumer goods manufacturing, the building-materials industry and logistics — wherever products need to be made ready for shipping in large quantities.

Depending on the product range, we combine palletising, shrink-wrapping and lid-application into a continuous packaging line that connects seamlessly to your existing filling line.

What Tomasic does differently with packaging technology

We design packaging solutions to match product weight, packaging type and required cycle output, and integrate them seamlessly into existing lines. As a special-machine builder, we don't treat packaging technology in isolation, but as part of your entire production process.

Palletising

Automatic palletising systems handle the layer-by-layer stacking of products onto pallets. From simple robotic palletising to fully automated lines with layer formers and stretch wrappers.

Shrink Wrapping

Shrink-wrapping systems envelop products in shrink film, providing secure transport and storage protection. They are suitable for single products, multipacks and palletised goods in a variety of film formats.

Lid Applicators

Lid applicators fully automatically place lids onto containers, tubs or trays. Designed for high cycle rates, they integrate seamlessly into existing filling and packaging lines.

Frequently asked questions about packaging technology

Which packaging technology suits my product?

It depends on product shape, packaging type and required cycle rate: palletising suits shipping large quantities, shrink-wrapping suits transport protection for individual products or multipacks, and lid applicators suit automatically sealing containers. During the design consultation, we determine the right combination for your application.

Can packaging technology be integrated into an existing filling line?

Yes, new packaging technology can generally be connected well to existing filling and production lines, provided transfer points and cycle times are coordinated. We assess on site how the new system can be integrated into your existing line.

How much space does an automated packaging line require?

Space requirements depend on the type of system and level of automation — from a few square metres for a single palletising station to a larger area for a fully automated line with a layer former and stretch wrapper. We design the system to match your available space.
